Timothy: Romans 6:15-23
Slaves to Righteousness

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under Law, but under grace? Let it not be!

16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or obedience to righteousness?

17 But thanks be to God that you were slaves of sin, but you obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

18 And having been set free from sin, you were enslaved to righteousness.

19 I speak as a man on account of the weakness of your flesh. For as you presented your members as slaves to uncleanness and to lawless act unto lawless act, so now yield your members as slaves to righteousness unto sanctification.

20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free as to righteousness.

21 Therefore what fruit did you have then in the things over which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

22 But now having been set free from sin, and having been enslaved to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end everlasting life.

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

[Literal Translation of the Holy Bible]

Dear God the Father, my Beloved Father, I thank You for this new day that You have given me to live in this body and to be nourished by God’s Eternal Living Word. I pray to Christ to give me strength on this new day and ask the Holy Spirit to help me understand the Word of God correctly and to have the power to live according to it. I thank Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Dear Father, I am now writing down what I understand from reading and meditating on Romans 6:15-23.

Dear Father, I understand that Your people are not under the law, which means they are not condemned and punished for their sins. The condemnation and punishment were already placed on the physical body of the Lord Jesus Christ. Your people are under grace and mercy, enjoying forgiveness and cleansing from their sins through Christ. Your people may still sin, but they do not intentionally live in sin. Therefore, their sins continue to be forgiven, and they continue to be sanctified as long as they repent and confess to You. This is what the Holy Spirit teaches in I John 1:9.

Dear Father, I understand that every time Your people sin, it means they are nailing Christ to the cross again, publicly shaming Him, disrespecting the Holy Spirit, and treating Christ as if He were worthless. This is no different from trampling on Christ, as clearly stated in Hebrews 6:6 and 10:29. Therefore, Your people cannot rely on being saved from the law and continue to sin while being under grace.

Dear Father, I understand that when I choose to sin, I also choose to become a slave to sin. And when I sin, I will be controlled by sin and continue to sin until I am saved by faith in God’s grace of salvation. I understand that when I choose to accept God’s grace of salvation, I also choose to become a slave to obedience to God. As a result, I am forgiven, cleansed of sin, and declared righteous.

Dear Father, I understand that obeying God means following what is written in the Bible, which is taught truthfully by God’s servants. It is the doctrine of God.

Dear Father, I understand that just as I was enthusiastic about serving sin before, I should be at least equally enthusiastic about serving righteousness and serving You. In fact, the purpose of my life has completely changed. Today, I live to continue to learn about You through meditation on the Word of God, to complete the good works that You have prepared for me and for all Your people, which were written in the Bible: loving You above all things, loving others as myself, obeying the commandments, following Your laws, praising and thanking You, being fair and supportive, building up my brothers and sisters in faith, preaching the Gospel to all people, and fulfilling the specific good works that You have entrusted to me.

Dear Father, I understand that I have passed from death into life, and this life is eternal by faith in Your grace of salvation. Even if I have to go through the death of my physical body, death has no power over me. But I hope and believe that Christ will come and take the Church out of the world while I am still alive in this physical body. I will experience the transformation of my physical body. That day is near, and Christ can come at any time.

Dear Father, I thank You for the grace of salvation that You have given me, for the grace of sanctification through the Eternal Living Word of God, and for increasing my faith every day. Please keep me blameless and ready for the coming of Christ. I thank You and pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

In the grace of Jesus Christ, my Lord.
