Timothy: Romans 5:1-11
Peace with God Through Faith

1 Then being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

2 through whom also we have had access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we glory on the hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory also in afflictions, knowing that affliction works out patience,

4 and patience works out proven character; and proven character, hope.

5 And the hope does not put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us;

6 for we yet being without strength, in due time Christ died for ungodly ones.

7 For with difficulty one will die for a just one, (for perhaps one even dares to die for the sake of the good one),

8 but God commends His love to us in this, that we being yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Much more then, being justified now by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through Him.

10 For if while being enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life;

11 and not only so, but also glorying in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we now received the reconciliation.

[Literal Translation of the Holy Bible]

Dear God, my Beloved Father, I rejoice and give thanks to You for this new day that You have given me, along with the opportunity to read and meditate on Your Eternal Living Word. Please help me to always cherish Your Word and to live joyfully in it. I ask Christ to give me strength for this new day, and I ask the Holy Spirit to guide me in the truth as I meditate on Your Word.

I have meditated on and written down my understanding of Romans 5:1-11, as follows:

Dear Father, I understand and believe that, through my faith in the redemption of sins by Christ, shown by genuine repentance, I am justified by You. This means that all of my transgressions are forgiven by You, my inclination towards sin is washed away by Christ, and the Holy Spirit dwells within me, leading and granting me the power of God. As a result, I can live a holy life, free from sin, and draw near to You to worship and seek grace from You.

Dear Father, I understand that I and my fellow believers are given the grace to anticipate Your glory, which is the time when we will be face to face with You in heaven, and when Your glory will shine upon us.

Dear Father, I understand that while I am still living in this present physical body, in this present world, I must endure suffering by following Christ. This is the call for anyone who accepts the Gospel. But in this suffering, we are glorified, as we demonstrate to the angels, demons, and humans our faith and loyalty to You. I understand and believe that every hardship that You allow to happen to those who love You is beneficial to them, so that they can be trained and become like Christ. Christ suffered and died for us. We are called to be faithful to the point of death and to share in the suffering of Christ.

Dear Father, I understand and believe that it is through the trials You allow that I have the opportunity to demonstrate my faith and grow in faith, fully relying on You. When I see that I have overcome every temptation and adversity by the grace and faith given to me by God, my hope becomes even greater; hope in the faithfulness of God that He will fulfill everything promised in the Bible, that my mortal body will be transformed or resurrected, and I will live forever in the Kingdom of Heaven and reign with Christ.

Dear Father, I understand and believe that the sacrifice of Christ is once and for all. All of my sins, past, present, and future, are punished on the flesh of Christ. As long as I do not persist in sin and truly repent, I am saved. I also understand that if You have given Christ as a sacrifice for my sins, there is nothing You will not give me when I live to please You. All the gifts that You have for me can be summed up in one phrase: “The gift of God is an incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading inheritance, reserved in the heavens for those who belong to Him.”

Dear Father, I understand that there is no longer condemnation for anyone in Christ, meaning those who have truly believed in the Gospel. They have been saved from Your wrath. On the contrary, in Christ, they receive even greater salvation while still in this life; salvation from temptation, adversity, forgiveness of sins, and ultimately salvation from physical death.

Dear Father, thanks to the blood of Christ, You have forgiven me for all my sins, allowing me to be reconciled with You in peace, no longer worrying or fearing because I am no longer an enemy. In this reconciliation, I am glorified in You through Christ. This means that in the name of Christ, You cause me to reflect Your glory and be exalted in Your kingdom, co-reigning with Christ.

Dear Father, Your Word is truly sweet and brings refreshing to the soul, enlightening the spirit. I thank You, Triune God, for nurturing me and sanctifying me with the Eternal Living Word. May my life always belong to God. Amen!

In the grace of Jesus Christ, my Lord.
