Priscilla: Romans 8:26-30
The Purpose of God for His People

26 And likewise the Spirit also joins in to help our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes on our behalf with groanings that cannot be uttered.

27 But the One searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He petitions on behalf of the saints according to God.

28 But we know that to the ones loving God all things work together for good, to those being called according to purpose;

29 because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.

30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

[Literal Translation of the Holy Bible]

Dear God, my beloved Father, today I offer my understanding to You as I reflect on Your Word in Romans 8:26-30 regarding Your purpose for Your people.

Dear God, I understand that “whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son,” means that You love the world so much that You gave Your only Son. You foresaw those who would sincerely repent and gladly receive the Gospel, which is Your saving grace, with grateful hearts. You will transform the physical body of that person to become like the body of Christ, glorious, immortal, sinless, and filled with all the good things of God.

I know that in order to be like Christ, one must be a new creation in Him, sharing His qualities, living a life of love, holiness, and righteousness. Therefore, that person lives a new life without arrogance, without the sinful desires of the flesh, not intentionally breaking God’s laws, fully obeying God, and following the good will of God as expressed in the Bible.

Dear God, with regards to verse 30: “But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified,” I understand that You are God, the Self-Existent and Eternal One. You are the One who searches the heart and tests the mind. You foreknow, You call, You declare those You called righteous, You predestine, You prepare, and You glorify those who fear You. The righteous will live by faith, trusting in everything, relying on everything from You, and loving You above all things. When faced with adversities or challenges in life, they do not fear, complain, or blame, but give thanks to You, for all things work together for the good of those who love You. They believe that adversities are intended by You to help them achieve the purpose that You have predestined for them, including becoming like the Lord Jesus Christ, being united with Him, and reigning with Him.

Thank You, God, for Your great mercy, that I have responded to Your call, been a part of the Church, and received the blessings that You have predetermined for me, according to Your purpose. Through this, I am united with the Lord Jesus Christ and co-reign with Him. Amen!

In the grace of Jesus Christ, my Lord.
