Priscilla: Romans 2:12-16
God’s Judgment of the Gentiles

12 For as many as sinned without Law will also perish without Law. And as many as sinned within Law will be judged through Law.

13 For not the hearers of the Law are just with God, but the doers of the Law shall be justified.

14 For when nations not having Law do by nature the things of the Law, they not having Law are a law to themselves,

15 who show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience witnessing with them, and the thoughts between one another accusing or even excusing,

16 in a day when God judges the hidden things of men, according to my Gospel, through Jesus Christ.

[Literal Translation of the Holy Bible]

Dear God, my Beloved Father, today I offer to You what I have come to understand through reflecting on Your Word in Romans 2:12-16, regarding “God’s Judgment of the Gentiles”. I am grateful to You.

Dear God, with regard to those who do not have the law but commit sin, I understand that they will perish without the law. These are the people who have never read or heard about Your commandments, the Ten Commandments that You wrote with Your own hand on two tablets of stone and that Moses handed down to mankind. And these are the people who have never learned about the Bible or Your written laws for living a loving, holy, and righteous life according to Your nature.

Dear Lord, I understand that even though human beings do not have written laws from God, when they do good things for others, they feel happy, and when they do wrong things, they feel ashamed because their conscience accuses them. This is because the commandments and laws of God have been placed in their hearts. They know that they should do good and not do evil. However, people often choose to follow their own desires instead of obeying God’s commandments and laws. Therefore, sin entered the world, starting with the first humans, Adam and Eve, when they disobeyed God’s commandment.

Dear Lord, I understand that when someone commits a sin by not obeying the law that You have placed within them, they will receive punishment from You, which is death. “For the wages of sin is death,” meaning that the soul is lost and separated from You forever. I believe that God will judge every sinful act of every person justly, according to the law that You have placed within their conscience. There are those who may not have Your written law, who may not know the Bible, and who may not have heard about the Gospel of Salvation, but in their hearts, they know and worship You, and live righteously according to the conscience that You have given them. I think that such people deserve to be forgiven through the redemption of Christ on the cross because they are righteous in Your eyes, having followed the conscience that You have given them. Your words are clearly written in the Bible: “I will call those Not My people, My people! And those not beloved, Beloved!” And: “And it shall be, in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people, there they will be called, “Sons of the Living God.””

Dear Lord, I understand that those who have the law and commit sin will be judged by the law. These are the people who have heard of Your Word or those who have believed in Jesus Christ, learned about the Bible and the laws of God but have only read and heard without following the teachings in the Bible. Therefore, they are not considered righteous in Your eyes. On the day of the final judgment, all those who do not accept God’s Gospel of Salvation and those who have received the Gospel but do not follow the teachings in the Bible will be punished. God will judge them with justice, and nothing will remain hidden or unknown. They will be lost forever in the lake of fire, where there will be weeping, gnashing of teeth, pain, and suffering. If anyone deliberately sins after receiving knowledge of the truth, there will be no more sacrifice for their sins, as the Holy Spirit has sternly warned in Hebrews 10:24-26.

Dear Lord, I understand that a righteous person is someone who has a pure and honest heart, believes in God, and lives according to the conscience that God has given them. I also understand that those who preach the Gospel must first be righteous themselves. Only then can they proclaim the Gospel according to the Bible. They should proclaim the Word of God as the Living Word of God, without compromising or sugarcoating it. They should not use logic and psychology to persuade their listeners. They should not only preach about God’s love for the world, but also about the punishment for those who do not repent of their sins and do not accept God’s salvation.

I pray that the grace of the Triune God helps me to listen to and follow the Word of God so that I can continue to live in the grace of salvation and achieve eternal life that God has planned for me. I give thanks to the Triune God.

In the grace of Jesus Christ, my Lord.
