Priscilla: Romans 2:1-11
God’s Righteous Judgment

1 Therefore, O man, you are without excuse, everyone who judges, for in that in which you judge the other, you condemn yourself; for you, those judging, practice the same things.

2 But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth on those that practice such things.

3 And, O man, the one judging those practicing such things, and doing them, do you think that you will escape the judgment of God?

4 Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, and the forbearance and the long-suffering, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

5 But according to your hardness and your impenitent heart, do you treasure up to yourself wrath in a day of wrath, and revelation of a righteous judgment of God?

6 He “will give to each according to his works:” LXX-Psa. 61:13; MT-Psa. 62:12

7 everlasting life truly to those who with patience in good work seeking glory and honor and incorruptibility;

8 but to the ones truly disobeying the truth out of self-interest, and obeying unrighteousness, will be anger and wrath,

9 trouble and pain on every soul of man that works out evil, both of Jew first, and of Greek.

10 But glory and honor and peace will be to everyone working out good, both to the Jew first, and to the Greek.

11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

[Literal Translation of the Holy Bible]

Dear God, my Beloved Father, today I offer to You the things I have learned while meditating on Your Word about judging others and Your righteous judgment. I am grateful to You.

Dear God, I understand that I should not judge others or point out their faults while committing the same sins as they do. Doing so would mean that I am pretending to be righteous while I am also a sinner. It is like seeing a speck of sawdust in someone else’s eye and not noticing the plank in my own eye. When I condemn others, I am also condemning myself. To all sinners You are full of love, kindness, patience, and compassion, and You want them to repent of their sins. If they refuse to come to You and genuinely repent, if they despise Your forgiveness, they will receive just punishment from You, consistent with the truth and in accordance with Your righteous laws because that is Your nature.

Your Word teaches me that I must examine my own heart before judging others, so that I will not be judged by You. I also understand that when I see members of the Church sinning or making mistakes, if I remind and alert them, it is not judging but fulfilling my duty and responsibility to keep the Church pure. Because the Word of God teaches us to teach and exhort one another. And if we know what is right and do not do it, it is sin. As I understand it, to speak out the sins of my brothers and sisters so that they can recognize and repent is also a righteous act in accordance with the truth.

Dear God, I understand that the Jews represent those who believe in God, and the Greeks represent those who do not believe in God. You punish those who do evil among your people before punishing those who do evil outside of your people.

Those who believe in God and live the life of a hypocrite will bear the punishment before those who don’t believe in God and are hypocrites. This is because they have learned the Word of God but have not acted upon it. Furthermore, I understand that the punishment for those who have believed in God and committed serious sins is greater than the punishment for those who have not believed in God and committed sins.

Dear God, I know that You are a just judge and do not show favoritism to anyone. You will repay each person according to what they have done, and no one will be able to escape Your judgment. On the day of judgment, those who have sinned without repenting and accepting Your salvation will have to give an account of themselves to You. However, those who have believed in You, lived for You, died for You, suffered to preach the Gospel, endured persecution for their faith, or lived in poverty but remained faithful to the end, will receive a reward from You on the day when Christ comes to take the Church out of this world. They will receive eternal life and will reign with Christ in the Kingdom of Heaven forever.

Dear God, I know that the day of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is very near. The Lord Jesus Christ promised that when He returns, He will bring His reward with Him, and give to each person according to what they have done. My heart is joyful and eagerly awaits the day when Christ comes so that I can be transformed and taken up to meet Christ, and with the Church follow Him into heaven. That is the reward for those who seek glory, honor, and immortality. I thank You, Father, for Your gift to me.

In the grace of Jesus Christ, my Lord.
