Perhaps Apollos wanted to wait until the divisions and factions within the Church were resolved.

13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

Verse 13: I understand that the Apostle Paul urges the people of God to be vigilant in every aspect, especially in discerning the false teachings of fake prophets and deceitful teachers. Through vigilance, the people of God will not succumb to the temptations of the devil. Paul exhorts them to stand firm in their faith, meaning they should live according to the teachings of the Holy Scriptures. They also need to be courageous and strong, remaining steadfast even in times of adversity, without fear. The people of God should understand and believe that unity serves the benefit of those who love God and that Christ is always with His people, as He promised and recorded in Matthew 28:20.

14 Let all your things be done with charity.

Verse 14: I understand that the Apostle Paul advises the people of God to let everything they say and do be done in love. Out of love for God, they should speak and act in ways that please Him. Out of love for others, they should speak and act in ways that benefit them. Therefore, every word spoken and every deed done by the people of God is for the glory of God and to honor Him.

15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

16 That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

Verse 15 and 16: I understand that the Apostle Paul mentions the household of Stephanas, a family who were devoted to the Lord during his initial preaching in Achaia. It is possible that Stephanas was a leader in the Church in Corinth, and his entire household actively labored alongside Paul in building up the Church in Corinth. Paul advises the people of God to appreciate their labor and wholeheartedly receive them upon their return. They had endured hardships and dangers on their long journey, fulfilling the entrusted work of the Church. When they return, they will also bring with them words of sharing and teaching from Paul, refreshing the spiritual life of the people of God within the Church.

19 The churches of Asia salute you.
