Timothy: Romans 1:1-7
The Servant of Christ and the Gospel of God

1 Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ, a called apostle, separated to the gospel of God,

2 which He promised before through His prophets in the holy Scriptures,

3 concerning His Son who came of the seed of David according to flesh,

4 who was marked out the Son of God in power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord;

5 by whom we received grace and apostleship to obedience of faith among all the nations, for His name’s sake,

6 among whom are you also, called-out ones of Jesus Christ;

7 to all those who are in Rome, beloved of God, called-out saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

[Literal Translation of the Holy Bible]

Dear God, my Beloved Father,

As I meditate on Romans 1:1-7, I have come to understand the following:

The Lord Jesus Christ called upon the Apostle Paul to serve in an apostolic ministry that consisted of the daily task of spreading the Gospel and establishing local churches. This ministry was completely dependent on God’s providence. Similarly, You have called me to serve You through the ministry of teaching Your Word to the Vietnamese people and guiding those who accept me as their shepherd. Both of these ministries are dedicated to spreading the Gospel of the Triune God by Your will, the works of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Father, please guide me to follow in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul and be dedicated in my service to You. Please help me to live as a true slave of Christ, obedient to His will and devoted to serving Him.

Dear Father, I understand that You appointed Christ as Your Son to accomplish the salvation of mankind. As someone who sincerely repents of my sins and accepts Christ’s atoning death, I am grateful that You have appointed me to be Your son and to inherit Your inheritance. You have also called me to be Your priest, serving You by worshiping You with my life, and to be a king, ruling over myself and eventually over the inheritance You have prepared for me in Your kingdom. Thank You for choosing me and giving me the privilege of serving You.

Dear Father, I acknowledge that when You appoint a person, it is in accordance with Your will and plan, and it fulfills Your purpose for that person, which was established even before the foundation of the world. I am humbled and thankful that You have chosen me to be Your son, Your priest, and Your king in Your kingdom.

Dear Father, I ask for Your guidance in living a life that reflects my appointment as a servant of God, serving Christ as a priest and king. May my actions and attitudes be a testimony to my devotion to You and my commitment to fulfilling Your will. Thank You for entrusting me with this calling, and I pray that I may fulfill it faithfully.

Dear Gracious Father, I am filled with gratitude for Your gift of salvation and the peace that comes from having my sins forgiven by You. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for the grace of being united with You through the Church and for the peace that comes from knowing I have eternal life in You. I also thank the Holy Spirit for making me a saint and for working in me, helping me to understand and believe in the Gospel, and to live according to the Word.

May the grace and peace of the Triune God forever surround me and my loved ones. I pray for those among my relatives who have yet to experience the grace and peace of God, that You may extend Your mercy to them and grant them opportunities to know You. I am thankful for all Your blessings and pray fervently in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

In the grace of Jesus Christ, my Lord.
