Priscilla: Romans 8:18-25
Future Glory of the Church

18 For I calculate that the sufferings of the present time are not worthy to compare to the coming glory to be revealed in us.

9 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly awaits the revelation of the sons of God.

20 For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but through Him subjecting it, on hope;

21 that also the creation will be freed from the slavery of corruption to the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

22 For we know that all the creation groans together and travails together until now.

23 And not only so, but also we ourselves having the firstfruit of the Spirit, also we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly expecting adoption, the redemption of our body;

24 for we were saved by hope, but hope being seen is not hope; for what anyone sees, why does he also hope?

25 But if we hope for what we do not see, through patience we wait eagerly.

[Literal Translation of the Holy Bible]

Dear God, my Beloved Father, today I offer to You my understanding of Your Word in Romans 8:18-25 about the future glory of the Church.

Dear God, I understand that the verse “the sufferings of the present time are not worthy to compare to the coming glory to be revealed in us” means that, although we may suffer pain and persecution in these mortal bodies for preaching the Gospel or living according to Your Word and obeying Your commands, the sufferings of this present time cannot be compared to the glory that will come.

Dear God, I understand that “the coming glory to be revealed in us” means that if we are persecuted but remain faithful, not denying our faith, we will receive glory in the Kingdom of Heaven. Furthermore, even in this life, those who persecute us can see the glory of God revealed through us. They can see the love, justice, and holiness of God reflected through our faith.

Dear God, I believe that I have been saved with the hope of eternal life, according to Your promise. For You promised eternal life to everyone who believes in Your Son, Jesus Christ, as written in John 3:16. Dear God, I understand that only those who remain faithful to the end, obeying Your commandments, will receive eternal life. Although I have not yet seen eternal life with my physical eyes, I am waiting for it and for the coming of Christ so that I may be united with Him and receive the glory of God. This is the time when I will enter into eternal life with You, God, in the Kingdom of Heaven.

I pray that You help me and every one of my brothers and sisters in the Church to be the light of the world, shining the glory of God. I thank You. Amen!

In the grace of Jesus Christ, my Lord.
