Priscilla: I Corinthians 1:1-9
Greeting and Thanksgiving

1 Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Sosthenes the brother,

2 to the assembly of God which is in Corinth, those having been sanctified in Christ Jesus, called-out saints, with all those calling on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:

3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 I give thanks to my God always concerning you for the grace of God given to you in Christ Jesus,

5 that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all discourse and all knowledge,

6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,

7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting the revelation of our Lord, Jesus Christ,

8 who also will confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

[Literal Translation of the Holy Bible]

Dear God, my Beloved Father, today I offer my meditation on the Word of God, in I Corinthians 1:1-9.

Dear God, I understand verse 1 as follows: Apostle Paul means that he did not become an apostle on his own initiative, but by the will of God the Father. He was called to be the apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ to proclaim the Gospel to the world.

Dear God, I understand verse 2 as follows: Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the people of God in the Church at Corinth. He called them saints, those who were sanctified in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is their Lord and the Lord of all who call upon His name, wherever they may be.

Dear God, I understand verse 3 as follows: Apostle Paul greeted the Church in Corinth and prayed that they would receive grace and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ. God the Father has given the Church every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, including the peace of salvation by grace. The Lord Jesus Christ has given the Church the grace to be one with Him, so that they may live victorious and peaceful lives in all circumstances.

Dear God, I understand verses 4-6 as follows: Apostle Paul always remembers and gives thanks to God for the Church in Corinth. He prays that God may enrich them in Christ with every spiritual gift, including wisdom and knowledge of the Word of God, so that they may apply it to their lives, live in obedience to its teachings, and bring glory to God. Thus, the testimony of Christ is confirmed among the people of God in Corinth.

Dear God, I understand verse 7 as follows: I know that all Your faithful people today eagerly await the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, who will take the Church into heaven. But while waiting for His coming, You have given many spiritual gifts to Your people in the Church, so that they may build one another up, work together in the ministry of preaching the Gospel, and bring salvation to the world.

Dear God, I understand verses 8-9 as follows: Your faithful people trust in the atoning sacrifice of Christ, live in obedience to the Word of God, repent of their sins, and turn away from them. Therefore, You have made them holy and blameless like Christ, and they share in His righteousness. They are justified and will be glorified with Him. You, who are faithful, will reward them, and they will remain steadfast in their faith until the end. Amen.

In the grace of Jesus Christ, my Lord.
